Voting Online - National Holiday
Why do we have to mail and absentee ballot.
The internet has been online over 20 years!
Why don't you have an online method to fill out an absentee ballot or vote online, mail is a outdated method.
With secure servers available we should all have online voting. There are people disabled who can't vote, because there is no online mechanism. Minorities are being kept from voting in many states to due poling places in lower income areas being closed in many states. What happened to democracy.
Millions of people have to commute every day and are unable to vote because many of them live hours from their home or polling area.
Millions work late and are not given the time off from work to vote.
Millions more would vote if Election Day was a National paid holiday if proof of voting was then submitted to the employer to get paid for the day, showing the voter receipt. That would be an incentive.
Millions of people travel on voting day. This why we need online voting with DOD level encryption to prevent any hacking online. Major companies like Lockheed, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Boeing all have very secure servers. We should commission the companies that setup their servers to setup the voting servers. When the Obamacare servers were setup the government didn't use Google, they went with a cheap company and the servers went down the first day.
The voting servers should be physically disconnected from the internet before and after voting.
Bitlocker or some other encryption software should be used to secure the hard drives and servers.
The system should bought and maintained with the same high standards.
Google or similar company could setup up secure site for voting since they have 25% of the countries servers. We should contract Google to setup a website with hundreds of servers allocated the day of voting, in primaries, main elections,etc. The cost will be substantially less if a company who has the expertise, equipment, and knowledge to provide secure internet for voting access, using a personal voting number that requires personal information, the same as when registered to vote.
All registered voters will be input into the servers and a secure password could be generated using the voter registration receipt number.
Online registration would be configured such that only one person, registered only in one county, and only vote once. It would be a sophisticated process that will need to minimize the potential for voter fraud.
There could be an program or app on televisions, cellphones, and maybe ATMs that would come online on voting day so that none would have an excuse not to vote.

WE NEED TO PETITION TO MAKE VOTING DAY A NATIONAL PAID HOLIDAY.
Many countries have voting day off, why can't the United States catch up with the rest of the world!!!
